On February 21st 2012, in Moscow, a group of women burst into the Russian capital’s center of religious Orthodox power, the emblematic Cathedral of Christ the Savior, stood on the altar and performed a “punk prayer” that would get them arrested. This documentary follows Nadia, Masha and Katia, members of the feminist collective Pussy Riot, from the preparation of their profane performance up to the last days of their trial, revealing the echoes of their struggle for true transformation in times of social unrest that urgently press for change.

Maxim Pozdorovkin, with a Doctorate from Harvard University, made his debut as a director with Capital, an urban symphony on the construction of a utopian town in the center of Kazakhstan. Pozdorovkin has also been recognized for his curatorial work.
