After having travelled community by community, we noted the situation in which families were in the region of the coast of Chiapas. We saw people with fear, anxiety, panic, desperation, with physical and psychological break-downs, knowing that they had lost everything in less than a minute. We felt it was the end. But the people helping each other, being in solidary, kept that hope alive.
We are dreaming and longing for all people to have a dignified life, where there is no hatred or violence, only peace.
We are slowly rebuilding life, we vindicate our struggle for it. We remain organized after the earthquake now more firmly, we know that only then can we rebuild from scratch.
Seeing women, men, boys, girls and teenagers recover their lives keeps us steadfast in this reconstruction process. Solidarity and organization are an essential part for hope to be maintained eternally.
